Day 30 | Disciples Are Always Disciples
2 Peter 1:12, “So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.” Some members in the church believe that when the discipleship program and classes end, that discipleship ends. Not only that, but some pastors even believe that once they…

John 3:3, “Jesus replied, Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” Man is a spiritual being with a soul that lives in a body. What makes man so special is that unlike angels he has a body with five senses. And unlike animals man…

My prayer with this commentary on 1 Corinthians 13-14 is to be able to glorify the Holy Spirit and inspire all His children to eagerly seek His gifts. For the most part the commentary is basic, however, at different points I get a bit technical but I still try to remain brief. I believe Paul…

Matthew 3:11, “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” In the above verses John the Baptist gives a clear prophecy to what Jesus, the Messiah, was…

John 7:38-39, “38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.” Could you imagine being alive during the time of Jesus when He spoke these powerful words? The Jewish…

Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Right before Jesus ascended into heaven He gave these powerful parting words. He wanted to make sure His disciples received…

Acts 2:4, “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Luke records in the above passage that the clear and evident sign that the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit was that they spoke in other tongues (languages) as the Spirit…

Acts 2:38b-39, “…And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off —for all whom the Lord our God will call.” One of the most beautiful things about the “gift of the Holy Spirit” according to Peter is that…

Ephesians 5:18, “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” Paul in the noted passage gives the believer a clear choice in finding joy and satisfaction between getting drunk with wine and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Certainly, the obvious choice is not to get drunk…
