Praying & Worshipping

Praying and worshipping are the foundational activities in the Christian’s life that bring God’s presence and power. Sadly, most Christians don’t know how to properly pray or worship; nor do most Christians make time to do so on a regular basis. Some Christians have even forgotten or have never been taught that they are the temple of Holy Spirit and thus they should be in constant communion with the Lord, “practicing His presence” (1 Corinthians 3:16).

It is time that the disciples of Christ learn how to pray and worship so they can practice the presence of the Lord!

SERIES TEXT

1 Corinthians 9:24-27, “24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”

  3. Include other disciplines such as, “Scripture reading,” “memorization,” “soul journaling,” etc.
  4. Follow helpful “Prayer/Worship Routines.” For example, go through the different stages of the tabernacle or the Lord’s prayer (See pages 109-110 in “Disciples That Make Disciples”).
  5. Join together with others (family, church, life groups, etc.)
