God & Sexuality

This blog is the sermon notes from the message “God & Sex” in our series, “Discover Your Purpose.” I wanted to lay out all the stats and basic info in one place so people could read it clearly and share it with others. My prayer is that we will return to the ways of God in our sexuality and ask for His blessings upon our families.

Summary of All of the Stats

In the US we have committed the following sins because we have refused to obey Jesus’ simple command of “one man and one woman” living in committed godly marriage:

  1. Perversion & Fornication // Sex outside of marriage, promiscuity, & orgies, Galatians 5:19.
  2. Sensuality // Viewing of pornography, Galatians 5:19 (NASB).
  3. Self-Infliction // STD’s & STI’s, 1 Corinthians 6:18-19.
  4. Immortality // Raising families without godly marriages, Galatians 5:19.
  5. Adultery // Increased affairs, Matthew 5:19.
  6. Homosexuality // Destructive lifestyle of homosexuality and lesbianism, Romans 1:26-32, 1 Timothy 1:10, & 1 Corinthians 6:9.

  8. Murder // The abortion infanticide, Psalm 22:10, Matthew 19:14, & Romans 1:29.
  9. As well as; selfish ambition, pride, rebellion, greed, suicide, and dishonesty.

The Solution

  1. Guard your heart from lust, pornography, and perversion, Proverbs 4:23.
  2. Remain a virgin until marriage, Mark 10:7.
  3. Fall in love God’s way, 1 Corinthians 7:9 & Song of Solomon.
  4. Remain faithful to your spouse until death do you part, Hebrews 13:4.
  5. Raise your family with the teachings of Christ so they can repeat the good example before them, Ephesians 6:4.
  6. Remove perversion from your heart and hide God’s Word in your heart, Psalm 119:11,37.
  7. Stay in love with Jesus and your spouse, Ephesians 6:24!

We Must Repent and Ask God to Purify Us From Our Sins
