The Problem of Induction
“There is no intellectual difference between sanity and insanity,” Bertrand Russell, famous atheist philosopher.
Why would the famous atheist who wrote the book, “Why I’m Not Christian,” say the above quote in 1946? Because Russell understood, The Problem of Induction made famous by David Hume, the atheistic philosopher of the 1700’s. (Induction is the basis of the scientific method, which was first implemented by Christians, in a biblical framework, meant to understand God’s ordered creation.)
The problem of induction (or relying upon science and senses only for knowledge) is a problem that can be summarized as follows:
- If there is no God, there is no reason to trust our senses and scientific observations.
- According to atheists- there is no god.
- Therefore, atheists have no way to know the difference between sanity and insanity (what is true via the senses or science).
Dear Atheist, think you can disbelieve in God and still hold to justified true beliefs via your senses and science? Well, do your best and try to refute, “The Problem of Induction;” which was affirmed by the greatest atheists in history.
As for me, I’ll stick with God’s Word as the foundation for my true beliefs… I’d encourage everyone to do the same.
