Sick Doctors & Sad Pastors
Did you know, “A 2009 APA survey found that 87% of psychology graduate students reported experiencing anxiety, and 68% reported symptoms of depression. Even suicidal thoughts — with a prevalence of 19% — were relatively common?” And that around 46% of practicing psychologists currently suffer from depression?
And did you know that according to the Fuller Institute around 35% of pastors struggle with depression and low self-esteem?
What’s the problem? Both are relying upon human effort to do a work God said we needed the Holy Spirit and the wisdom of God to do.
1 Corinthians 1:23-24, “23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”
Is it any wonder that when someone who has God’s power and wisdom (with a living testimony) preaches to them the Word of God they claim their lying or they believe it’s impossible to defeat the enemy that has defeated them?
Matthew 15:14, “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”
In their pride they not only have refused to receive Jesus as the cure, but they are mocking and cynical of those like me who say they are cured.
So do you wanna be free from mental anguish? You have a one in three chance of desiring something that not even you pastor or counselor has—— but guess what? Jesus has it and will freely give it to you!
John 8:31-32, “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
(Note: I am not saying all doctors are sick or all pastors are sad— I am just speaking in general terms according to the stats and facts).
